Including a "windfall" of $1,963,359 recovered from the

Public Works Loan (1927) Account previously spent out of

the general revenues.

In the case of the Public Works Department we find

that the total personnel in the 1921 Estimates numbered

387, in which year the estimated expenditure on Public

Works Extraordinary was put at $4,967,400; in the 1927

Estimates the total staff numbered 837, in which year

the estimated expenditure on Public Works Extraordinary

was put at $3,706,264; and in the 1930 Estimates the

total staff numbers 841, in which year the estimated

expenditure on Public Works Extraordinary, including

$1,000,000 under Loan Account for the Aberdeen Water

Scheme (only part of which will be spent), is put at
